The Cosmic Snack Company is the songwriting partnership of Happy Montana and Katherine Loisel.
Two musicians writing songs together. Somewhere along the way… snacks started showing up.
Katherine began bringing surprise treats to writing sessions. Sweet things. Salty things. Curious Trader Joe's discoveries.
Soon the snacks became part of the ritual.
So Happy did the only logical thing.
At first we thought maybe we should keep that part quiet. After all, people were supposed to come for the songwriting.
But eventually we realized something.
The snack is out of the bag.
People come to write great songs… but they're definitely excited about the cabinet. So we leaned into it.

Katherine Loisel doesn't just sing — she enchants. A Nashville-based jazz and folk vocalist and songwriter, she transforms every performance into a journey filled with raw emotion, playful improvisation, and unfiltered soul.
Emerging from Nashville's boundary-blurring music scene, Katherine has performed more than 1,000 live shows, including an eight-year residency at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
She is preparing to release her long-awaited debut single “Lonely Daughter” in 2026, marking an exciting new chapter in her musical journey.
At the Cosmic Snack Company, Katherine brings spellbinding vocals, fearless songwriting instincts… and a mysterious ability to find extremely good snacks.
Happy Montana is an award-winning musician, songwriter, composer, producer, and creative entrepreneur. His work has received multiple honors from BMI and ASCAP, and he has written and produced for artists including Nellie McKay, Autumn Rowe, Ryan McCartan, and Dove Cameron.
As a pianist, Happy co-founded Jazz Punks, which reached #1 on the CMJ Jazz Radio charts and stayed in the top four for seven consecutive weeks. He has toured with the Kiefer Sutherland Band and other artists.
After graduate music studies at Boston University and MIT, he spent a decade in Los Angeles before arriving in Nashville in 2023. He leads several creative projects including Call for Help, Happy Montana and the Southern Lights, and the music platform Song Social.
Happy believes great songs come from curiosity, generosity, and the magic that happens when people sit in a room together and follow an idea wherever it leads. And of course… a well-stocked snack cabinet never hurts.
Together, Katherine and Happy form the creative partnership behind the Cosmic Snack Company.
Blending Katherine's enchanting voice and lyrical instincts with Happy's melodic intuition and production sensibility, their writing sessions are equal parts musical exploration and joyful discovery.
